Terrace Mountain Lookout

Saturday, September 26, 2009 - 9:00 am

Leaving the Vernon Army Camp parking lot at 9:00am sharp, we’ll be heading south through Kelowna to the Westside Road to Bear Creek Forest Service Road. We will park and unload at the lower pit (on the right after the motocross track) then ride to Terrace Mountain Lookout which is at approximately 5900ft elevation. Riding time should be approximately 2 hours in each direction so bring a lunch, camera, GPS, and extra/warm clothes.

Enjoy the view from the lookout and survey the area burned by this year’s Terrace Mountain forest fire.

Terrace Mountain Ride

A beautiful early fall ride through the Terrace Mountain Fire. Awe inspiring views along the ride and from Terrace Mountain a birds eye view of the area burnt by the fire. It was interesting to see how intensely the fire burned in areas and then it would jump and leave some trees totally untouched.
